CD ALMOST DONE

The CD is off to the pressing plant and should be showing up soon. Big thanks to Euan Winton for the CD design.

Midnight Without You: Was born out of a desire to create a Duo CD with the wonderful SteveHamilton. I have always loved piano and guitar duo CD’s theres just something about how theinstruments work together.

When I was getting in to Jazz guitar I listened a lot to the Bill Evans/Jim Hall recordings as well asFirst Edition by Jim Hall and George Shearing, We’ll be Together again By Pat Martino and GilGoldstien and others.

It occurred to me that the music of the Blue Nile, who I have been a fan of for many years, would sit well in this context and after receivingsome support for the project from Creative Scotland I proceeded to arrange the tunes. I tried to choose tunes that I could imagine in the duo context and arranged them to allow for improvisation and the feel of the duo.

The tunes I chose are mainly from Hats with some from a Walk Across the Rooftops and two from a later CD Birthday Cards and Silent Music.
