Midnight Without You is New CD I have recorded with wonderful pianist Steve Hamilton.
It is all arrangements of the music of ‘The Blue Nile’. I have been a fan of the band for many years, Paul Buchanan’s vocals and the sense of quiet introspection the music has. I really wanted to record a duo record with Steve so I revisited the guitar and piano duo CD’s that I had grown up with, Bill Evans and Jim Hall, Pat Martino and Gil Goldstein and others. It occurred to me that perhaps the music of these Duos had some of the same feeling. at least to me, as The Blue Nile’s music.
We will be playing some of the music at the Glasgow Jazz Festival on the 26th June at the recital Rooms this year. I will have copies available then and perhaps before, It will also be available through the usual outlets, Amazon, iTunes etc.
